This is where we publish examples of NSC's efforts to advocate intelligent reform in the national security and information and privacy arenas.
- November 15, 2010 - NSC Advisor Mark Zaid and Executive Director Kel McClanahan submit a letter to the members of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia. This letter advises the Senators of problems in the current suitability and security clearance process and requests that they question the members of the Joint Security and Suitability Reform Team about the issues in an upcoming scheduled hearing.
- November 26, 2010 - NSC Advisor Mark Zaid and Executive Director Kel McClanahan submit a public comment regarding proposed changes to the Department of Defense's Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) regulations.
- November 29, 2010 - NSC Advisor Mark Zaid and Executive Director Kel McClanahan submit a letter to the members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's Subcommittee on Intelligence Community Management. This letter advises the Members of Congress of problems in the current suitability and security clearance process and requests that they question the members of the Joint Security and Suitability Reform Team about the issues in an upcoming scheduled hearing.
- October 19, 2011 - NSC submits a public comment regarding proposed changes to the Department of Justice's FOIA regulations.
